There’s no shortage of heated opinions out there about illegal immigration (check out the recent Bill O’Reilly-Geraldo Rivera throwdown on YouTube), but filmmaker Chris Burgard, a UW graduate, wanted to see the issue for himself. So he took a camera down to the U.S./Mexico border, spending a month with the Minutemen and talking to ranchers about what they’re seeing. The result is a very personal documentary about an issue that too often lends itself to simple sloganeering.
