Over 1,200 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border out of control, why are we reducing the number of patrol agents on the border

The Obama Administration has announced their intention to reduce the overall number of Border Agents on the U.S.- Mexico border by 384.  The same border where countless persons linked to terrorism have entered our country illegally and thousands of pounds of narcotics are smuggled across on a daily basis.

With the security and surveillance of our Southern border already in a porous state due to a lack of resources and personnel, we are outraged at the reduction of Border Agents by the Obama Administration.  The decision is the opposite of what the United States needs and puts our country’s safety from potential terrorists at risk.  Coyotes and drug dealers are currently able to outmaneuver and outgun U.S. border personnel because of the lack of resources provided to them by the Federal Government.  The move to reduce the Agents will only inspire more illegal immigration and crime and put the lives of our remaining agents at risk.

“The move to reduce the number of Agents on the border is a step in the wrong direction by the President,”  stated Chris Burgard, director of the film Border.  “We have real problems at our border that are not being addressed by the Federal Government and they are only going to get worse unless we start taking them seriously in action and not just rhetoric.”

The administration has committed to spending billions to fight terrorism in the middle east, yet doesn’t demonstrate the resolve to sure-up our southern border.

This needs to be reversed immediately.
