Will McCain Or Obama Save Americans From The Issues Surrounding Illegal Immigration?
It doesn’t matter whether you support Obama or McCain, both sides of the debate are looking for help and in dire need of change. Each one has their own vision, their own hopes, and their own dreams as to how they see this country and the direction it should be moving in. There is one thing they outwardly appear to agree on, and that’s this nation’s immigration problem.
Both candidates say that they will secure the border, but as Senators when they called have acted to secure the border, neither did. Neither one has stood up and said on the second day in office they would save those ranchers or put a stop to the raping of Mexican women in the desert.
When Congress looked at the issues concerning immigration in 1986, an estimated 4 million aliens were living in the US. Very little came out of this meeting, and not much happened with it when they discussed it again in 1996. Twenty years later in 2006, the number of illegals swelled to 11 million. That is a growth rate of 350 000 people a year! In my mind, this translates to 14.5 million by the year 2016 and that is IF this rate stays the same.
A study by the Center for Immigration Studies performed in 2002 says that 33.1 million legal and illegal immigrants were living in the US. This makes them 11.5% of the country’s population and 6% of the nation’s eligible voters. The highest it has been in 70 years. They estimate 25% of today’s illegals or 2.83 million are living in California alone.
Thankfully, Obama and McCain know that something needs to change. Both candidates want to get the US/Mexican Border secured to stop the influx of people. Then, there are choices to be made when it comes to dealing with those already in the country.
Obama and McCain want those who have lived here for years and have benefitted the country to stay and be processed through the government and undergo the requirements they should have if they had entered through the proper channels. Obama wants to give them the ability to have American driver’s licenses while McCain opposes it. Both have supported and spoken against amnesty for those who did not enter the country through the legitimate channels.
Where Minutemen and the American families have a problem, is the amount of time they estimate everything will take. Both of them admit that nothing will get started until 2009. Ok, I can give them that — they need time to get used to their office and get everything organized. Both admit that this will take years. Obama want to put them on an 11-year probation-like program. McCain says it will take 13 years for everything to be set into place. We DON’T have that kind of time! We’ve been waiting more than 20 years already! What proof is there that this issue is not going to on the ‘to-do’ list and left for another 20+ years!
Why is this so important? Both candidates mention hard working grandmothers and young children when they talk about aliens. Yes, I don’t argue that there are some of those, but it certainly isn’t all of them.
There are rape trophies in the form of trees strewn with the panties of rape victims. Dead bodies strewn across the length of the border and being played with by the family pet. Do you want your little girl playing in the back yard when the coyotes come through with their charges? Not me thanks and the families who are forced to live with this don’t either.
This post isn’t a pro-Obama or a pro-McCain. It is about nothing more than protecting our country from the drugs, murderers, rapists, and terrorists who are terrorizing our country. Regardless of how you choose to vote or what your political thoughts are, write to McCain, Obama, your local members, governors and whoever you have to in order to put pressure on this issue and get it out in the light. Tell them flat out that we need help and we need it now! No Band-aids!
